The business has been established for over 17 years and is a distributor and sales agency covering a wide range of raw materials. Customers are within the UK and Europe predominantly.

The business is growing based on nurturing existing relationships and developing new ones, giving a first-rate service.

Everything is B2B and the business operates in a number of quite different market sectors with different market dynamics.


We require an enthusiastic individual with a desire to support customers first and foremost whilst learning the characteristics of different products and developing their market knowledge. The role should develop as product knowledge is established so extensive travel opportunities exist both within and outside of the UK. The suitable candidate must have a good understanding of numbers and language and be an effective communicator.

The role will develop to be a mix of office-based functions, customer visits, supplier visits, attending exhibitions, etc all focussed around customer needs.

Key Objectives

Maintain and develop sales opportunities in a timely way through a pro-active approach Record all sales activities using our internal sales database.

Finding new sales possibilities with existing customers and finding opportunities with customers we don’t currently sell to.

Main Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the M.D. maintain and grow our business with existing accounts.
  • Communicate with team members to everyone is on the same page regarding customer requirements, etc
  • Utilise our extensive CRM customer database and supplier database to identify new opportunities alongside market research and ongoing new enquiries we receive.
  • Manage new leads, recording all details on our CRM so accessible to all team members
  • Arranging meetings and visiting clients, sometimes with suppliers. Preparing offers for customers and being able to calculate customer pricing.
  • Developing orders and forecasts with customers.
  • Developing sales strategies for specific products or specific areas and following these through taking account of competitor activity and product and service characteristics.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in a B2B sales requirement.
  • A professional approach allied to good communication skills and comfortable numerically.
  • A desire to travel extensively, a clean driving licence is essential.
  • Able to organize, plan and act after thoughtful analysis.
  • Good computer skills
  • Confident to take responsibility whilst working as a part of the team

The role is based from the Congleton office. A company car can be provided after training. Lap top, mobile phone, etc
